Dr. Tihamér Molnár received a prestigious international award

Dr. Tihamér Molnár, associate professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, received the „Medis Award for Anesthesiology” at the end of 2017.

The international award was handed out for the 4th year in 8 medical areas of expertise. This year there were ever more, altogether 166 applications, evaluated by an international evaluation committee. Two finalists were invited from every area of expertise to the award ceremony, which took place in the Opera House in Belgrade in the presence of the international jury, the president of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Art and the leadership of Medis Pharma, who announced the application.  

Earlier a short introductory film had been shot about the work of each finalist, which was shown to the audience of the award ceremony. The winner was announced after that. Projects showing “significant medical results” in the Central and Eastern European region are rewarded with this award. The title of Dr. Tihamér Molnár’s application is the following: "L-Arginine Pathway Metabolites Predict Need for Intra-operative Shunt During Carotid Endarterectomy.", which was published in December 2016 in the prestigious European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. The co-authors of the original publication are the following: Dr. Péter Szabó, Dr. János Lantos, Lajos Nagy, Prof. Sándor Kéki, Dr. Éva Völgyi, Prof. Dr. Gábor Menyhei, Prof. Dr. Zsolt Illés.
